Celeste
Cardenas is Miss Teen San Antonio
A.B. 2006 and is going on to
the Miss Teen Texas Pageant.
Celeste is currently a high
school sophomore at the John Jay Science and Engineering
Academy of San Antonio. Celeste is 16 years old and plans
to graduate in the spring of 2008. She is actively involved
in church and her high school band. She is musically inclined
and plays the flute in the varsity band. She also plays cymbals
for the high school's winter drum-line. She plans to attend
the University of Houston College of optometry and double
major in optometry and business management. She would like
to become an accomplished optometrist and someday open her
own practice.
Celeste plans on using her title to help troubled
teens obtain a more positive outlook in life. She wants to
use her past experiences as inspirations for others.
Celeste
has truely learned the importance of family through the loss
of her older brother, Xavier, in the winter of 2004. Getting
through it has been difficut, but with the help and support
of her parents, she will be able to overcome all obstacles.
Miss
Cardenas strives to defeat depression in local teens, "Life
is worth living," she says, "It should be charished
every day with every breath you take, and if a girl like me
can make your day better by passing you a smile or by listening
to what you have to say, then I want to be the one with open
ears and an open heart."
